About Hung Up

What is Hung Up?

Hung Up is the best place in Melbourne's outer east to turn your preloved wardrobe into cash or to refresh your wardrobe in an affordable and sustainable way.

We offer a sustainable way to declutter your wardrobe and earn money by renting a personalised rack to showcase your gently worn clothing and accessories.

Here’s how it works: simply sign up, rent a rack in our curated retail space and display your preloved items (we accept all genders and children's/babies clothing) for potential buyers to explore. We handle all the logistics – from managing transactions to providing a secure shopping environment.

Hung Up values sustainability, affordability and individual style, a great place to sell your preloved items and to shop on-trend bargains.

The Process

  1. Clean out your wardrobe and choose the items you want to sell

Items should be washed and in good condition, and may include clothes, shoes, bags, hats, sunglasses and other suitable accessories. We accept both men's and women's clothes and you are welcome to sell both on the same rack.

  1. Book your rack through our platform

You will need to select the start date for your rack, noting this will be day you drop your clothes off.

Your rack will last for one week or two weeks, depending on the duration you select .  Remember, you will need to drop off your clothes and pick them up during trading hours on the final day of your rental.

Pay the rack rental fee to confirm your booking. You can choose your rack rental from the below options:

  • 1 week rental (4 days) $79
  • 2 week rental (8 days) $149
  1. Price and barcode your items

Through our booking portal, add your items and include a description for each item (brand name, item type, colour and size) and price

We recommend pricing items competitively to maximise sales. If you’re stuck on pricing, we suggest looking to our Instagram to see how other items are being priced. If you’re really stuck – feel free to send us a message!

As you add each item in the portal, a unique barcode will be generated for you to print and attach to your items. We recommend ensuring the paper barcode is stuck onto something sturdier like a thick piece of card, so the tags don’t get damaged or tear.

  1. Start your rental

On the day of your rack rental, drop your items off in store. We recommend bringing the items in within the first hour of trading, to maximise the time your items are on the rack for buyers. Once you get to the store, we’ll show you where your rack is and provide the hangers. From there you can set up your rack, and we’ll do the rest.

You can track your sales online through the portal, meaning as your items sell you can come top up your rack with more clothes. Also, if things are moving a little slowly, get in touch and we can apply a discount to your entire rack.

Don’t forget to promote your rack on your own social media – the more people in store, the more money you make!

  1. Finish your rental

On the final day of your rack rental, collect any items that have not sold. We recommend doing this towards the end of the day to maximise your rental time but this must be done prior the last 30 minutes of trading.

  1. Get paid

We will pay your earnings (less 15% commission) to your nominated bank account within 7 days.  Make sure you leave your bank details with us when you pick up your items.
